Summary

Intro to Fusing I - The Basics V2.0 is ideal for beginners as well as new glass fusers who want to improve upon or brush up on their skills and understanding of kilnforming. No experience necessary! All tools and materials are provided for this workshop. Lunch is also included. Age: Adult/Young Adult

We begin this private, one-day session with a general discussion of the fused glass basics followed by an explanation of available tools and materials. Afterwards, there will be a demo and practice session on glass cutting techniques. About mid-day, there will be a quick lunch break. At the request of the birthday honoree, the remainder of the day will be used for ornament making projects. Each participant will receive instruction on how to create two or three popular holiday designs. Participants who have an inclination to create ornaments based on their own designs are encouraged to do so. If this is your preference, please bring with you at least one or two drawings of ornaments that you would like to create and share them with the instructor. Keep in mind, the instructor must approve all class projects.

Over the next week, student projects will be kiln fired by the instructor. Students will then receive an email notification that their art glass is available for pick-up at the studio. Please note: due to space limitations, student projects cannot be stored at the studio for an extended period of time.
