Summary

These three-hour sessions are designed for glass fusers with, at a minimum, basic understanding/experience of fusing procedures and techniques. The particpant works at their own pace with minimal supervision. No instruction is provided. Self-defined projects should be at the basic level fusing and must be pre-approved by the supervisor on hand. Age: Adult/Young Adult 

Included:

  • Workspace for one participant (up to three other particpants may also be present)
  • Basic fusing tools
  • Clear base for one basic fusing project
  • Scrap glass from color segregated bins
  • One basic fuse firing (additional firings @ $25ea) 

Not Included:

  • Instruction, guidance
  • Studio machinery
  • Storage space 
  • Casting, cane pulling and torchwork are not available at the studio at this time

Available for Purchase:

  • Additional sheet glass, frit, rods, stringers (in stock only)
  • Additional basic kiln firings (in stock molds included)

Following project firings, usually within 7-10 days, participants will receive a notification email requesting they set up a pick-up day/time at the studio.

Preregistration Required

Registration for this session is required at least 3 days prior to the session. In order to offer a personable experience studio session sizes are kept limited in number, so it is recommended to register early. To reserve your spot, simply login or create a ShopDCArtGlass.com user ID. Links are provided in upper right corner. Then select a workshop day/time listed above and proceed to complete checkout. Your contact information, including email address, is required in order to receive email confirmations, reminders and pick-up notifications. Important: Be sure to read our cancellation policy below. 

Studio Safety

Safety comes first. On the day of the session, if any participant has tested positive for COVID, is feeling ill or has a temperature, they are asked not to attend and to reschedule. While every effort is made for a safe environment, by registering to attend a workshop participants agree to follow studio safety policy and to participate at their own risk. This policy subject to change.

Cancellation Policy

If for some reason there is cause for the studio to cancel a workshop session, the studio fully reimburses participants, less a processing fee. In the event a student makes a cancellation within 10 days of the session, they are not reimbursed unless there is a registered replacement in attendance. For all types of refunds/transfers, there is a $35 processing fee.
