Polar Aurora - Blue

Sometimes referred to as the northern lights, polar lights, aurora borealis, or southern lights, an aurora is light seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. These natural lights in the sky are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere. "Polar Aurora - Blue" pieces are created from limited production art glass that has a main color of transparent light sky blue. Mixed into the blue are transparent spring green and deep pink. Each piece is unique, one of a kind. 

- All art work is handmade by Robert Wiener in the DC Art Glass Studio. Kilnforming is a method of shaping glass in a kiln using heat and gravity. Techniques used by the artist include fusing, slumping, casting, printmaking and coldworking. It is common of kilnformed glass to have slight color shifts and small "champagne" bubbles.
