Polar Aurora - Green

Sometimes referred to as the northern lights, polar lights, aurora borealis, or southern lights, an aurora is light seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. These natural lights in the sky are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere. "Polar Aurora - Green" pieces are created from limited production art glass that has a main color of transparent spring green. Mixed into the green are transparent light sky blue and deep pink. Each piece is unique, one of a kind.

Techniques used by the artist include fusing, slumping, casting, printmaking and coldworking. It is common of kilnformed glass to have slight color shifts and small "champagne" bubbles.
